Today lets talk about something that has become way too common in the world of concealers!!

Every one out of three girls have these dark circles, so you don’t need to lower your self-esteem for this. Instead of following some tricks blindly, why don’t we know the root cause of it first? Sounds good?

Okay, so first let us see what are the factors that causes dark circles. These puffy eyes and the darkness is caused due to many reasons and some are listed below.

  • Lack of sufficient sleep
  • Over Sleeping
  • Too much Stress
  • Tiredness and Exhaustion
  • Spending too much time on computers or televisions or cellphones
  • Due to use of low quality Makeup products
  • Lack of Proper nutrition rich diet.
  • Low intake of water
  • Genetic causes
  • Low Haemoglobin levels

Take a close look of your daily routine to find out your cause for those killer circles. It is not that you are gonna live those for a lifetime, you can cure them. Since the skin below the eyes is way more sensitive than the other area of your face, do not use a lot of harmful chemicals on it. It causes irritations and adds up to the puffiness.

Why go around the world searching for remedies, when you find it in your kitchen? Yes! you heard it right. The typical ” Ghar ke Nuske”. So here are few things I listed below that actually work wonders!



1. Almond Oil


   Almond oil is rich in Vitamin E, hence it helps in keeping your skin soft and supple. Just apply this oil around              your eyes gently and massage a little before going to sleep. Leave it overnight so that when you are asleep it                  does it’s job precisely. Rinse it off with cold water the next morning.



2. Green tea bags.


Yes, it’s true!

Green tea actually has astringent properties that helps cure the dark circles.

All you have to do is refrigerate the used tea bags for a quite 5-7 mins before you keep them on your dark circles. Wait for 15 minutes and then rinse off thoroughly.

So after you have your green tea , you now know what to do with the bags!




3. Cucumber  Slices. 

We have always seen in movies these actresses or even  our elders relaxing with cucumber slices on their eyes, isn’t it?? Well, that’s all true. Cucumber has these antioxidants which help in repairing your dark circles and also soothes your eyes.

Take a cucumber , cut it into slices n refrigerate them for around 30 minutes. Keep them on your eye-lids for about 15 mins.  Also the coolness of the slices helps in a better blood circulation.



4. Potato 

Potatoes should be your best friend when it comes to fighting those killer dark circles. Potatoes are rich in Vitamin C that helps in calming the darkness of your skin. Just like the cucumber slices mentioned above you can also use chilled potato slices on your eyes covering those dark areas. Keep them on for about a 15 minutes and that will pretty much do the work for you.

Also another way of using the ‘Aloo’ is grating the potatoes and extract the juice out of it. Mix this juice with half a portion of lemon juice. Dip the cotton pads in this mixture and put them on your eyelids for a good 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water and you can see a slight difference. For great results you need to practice this on a daily basis or on alternative days.


5. Coffee Mask

Well, I know there are a lot of coffee lovers out there. So what if i tell you that coffee mask helps in reducing your dark circles also? Wouldn’t that be great?

To prepare this mask all you need is, black pepper, 2 tablespoon of grounded coffee, coconut oil, and few drops of water. Take all the ingredients in a bowl and mix it well to form a paste. Apply this mask under your eyes and keep it for about 10 minutes and then wipe it off with cotton. Don’t forget to moisturize your eyes after using the mask.


Those were my top 5 remedies for those killer circles. Remember nothing will happen overnight, so you have to apply these masks quite regularly to see great results.
